HONOKAA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Who will be the next steward of Roseanne Barr’s ranch on Hawaiʻi Island? Barr is selling the working ranch for $1.95 million, and the listing is drawing attention across the United States.

The 46-acre property is set along the Hāmākua Coast near Honokaʻa, and it’s more than a celebrity estate.

For Barr, it was a working farm, a family home and even the backdrop of her reality series “Roseanne’s Nuts.”

A working farm with deep roots

Paul Stukin, CEO and founder of Deep Blue HI, called the land “very special and interesting.” The property includes 4,000 macadamia nut trees, a main home with five bedrooms, a pool with a water slide and an ʻohana unit.

Stukin described it as “an active working farm, though it hasn’t been active in some time. It’s ready to go for the next steward.”

Barr purchased the ranch as an already operating farm and lived there for years. She raised her family on the land and filmed her series among the macadamia orchards.

Stukin said, “She was working that farm for quite some time. She raised her family there, and she actually produced a television show called Roseanne’s Nuts there.”

Interest from local buyers

While celebrity properties often attract investors from the continent, Stukin said this sale feels different.

“What I’m most excited about is the local interest that we’re getting from local farmers, local ranchers, people that want to be there with their family,” he said. “The most serious buyers and callers seem to be local families.”

That is good news for those who hope the land continues to serve the community. Stukin added, “When I’m reporting back to Roseanne and her team, they’re really excited about the local interest we’re getting on the farm.”
